These Terms govern your use of Mithaq Marriage (“Mithaq”, “we”, “us”), accessible at mithaqmarriage.com and through the associated Telegram bot. By submitting a profile or otherwise using the service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information.
To use Mithaq you confirm that you:
are at least 18 years of age;
are seeking marriage in good faith and in accordance with Islamic principles;
are legally free to marry, or are transparent about your current circumstances where relevant;
provide information that is truthful, accurate, and your own.
We are a service for facilitating introductions intended to lead to marriage. We are not a dating platform, and the service should not be used for casual contact, social networking, or any purpose other than the sincere pursuit of marriage.
Mithaq facilitates introductions between individuals seeking marriage. We provide a structured, privacy-conscious channel through which profiles can be submitted and potential matches can, with mutual approval, be connected.
We do not:
guarantee that you will be matched, contacted, or married;
verify the identity, character, marital status, intentions, or any statement made by any user, except where expressly stated;
act as a wali, witness, scholar, or party to any marriage;
supervise, mediate, or take responsibility for what happens between users after contact details have been shared.
Any introduction is the beginning of a process that is entirely the responsibility of the individuals and families involved. You are strongly encouraged to carry out your own due diligence, involve a wali and trusted family or community figures, and seek appropriate religious and, where relevant, legal guidance.
When using Mithaq, you agree to:
provide accurate and honest information about yourself, including your marital status, location, and intentions;
treat other users, and any family members or representatives you are connected with, with respect, modesty, and good character;
maintain the confidentiality of any personal information shared with you through the service, and not share, publish, or misuse it;
not use the service to harass, deceive, defraud, coerce, or cause harm to any person;
not impersonate any person or misrepresent your circumstances;
not use the service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that damages Mithaq or its users.
Your use of the service is subject to our Privacy Policy. In summary:
personal details are not displayed publicly;
photographs, where provided, are never made public and are only shared with a potential match upon mutual approval by both parties;
contact details are shared privately, only on approval, and never posted publicly.
You are responsible for any image or information you choose to upload, and you confirm you have the right to share it. Once details have been shared with a match, their further handling is outside our control and becomes the responsibility of the individuals involved.
Once contact details are shared, any communication, meeting, courtship, agreement, or marriage that follows is solely between the individuals and families concerned. Mithaq accepts no responsibility or liability for the conduct of any user, the accuracy of anything they have stated, or the outcome of any introduction.
We strongly recommend that initial contact and any meetings take place in an appropriate manner, with the involvement of a wali and trusted family or community members.
We may, at our discretion and without notice, decline, edit, suspend, or remove any profile or restrict access to the service — including where we believe information is false, where conduct breaches these Terms, or where we consider it necessary to protect users or the integrity of the service. We are not obliged to give reasons.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties or representations about the reliability, accuracy, suitability, or availability of the service, or about any user or introduction.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mithaq shall not be liable for any loss, damage, distress, or harm — whether direct, indirect, or consequential — arising from your use of the service, from any introduction, from the conduct or statements of any user, or from any inability to access the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You may stop using the service and request removal of your profile at any time by contacting us at [info@mithaqmarriage.com]. We may suspend or end your access at any time in accordance with section 7.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available at [terms URL]. Continued use of the service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. [Confirm with your solicitor — adjust if you operate or incorporate elsewhere.]
Questions about these Terms can be sent to [info@mithaqmarriage.com].
Notes for your review (delete before publishing)
Special-category data: religious belief and practice are special-category data under UK GDPR (Art. 9). Your Privacy Policy and lawful-basis/consent mechanism need to address this explicitly. Ask your reviewer to confirm your consent wording is sufficient.
Two checkboxes on the form: keep the existing “I consent to my information being stored…” box as your data-processing consent, and add a separate “I agree to the Terms & Conditions” box. Both required. Don’t merge them.
Marital status / polygamy: the form already includes “Married” as a status. The Terms above are deliberately neutral and lean on honesty and disclosure rather than restricting by status, so they fit your platform’s framework. Adjust to match the positioning you want.
Minors / safeguarding: the 18+ requirement is stated. Consider whether you want any additional safeguarding language given the sensitivity of the context.
Company details: if Mithaq is a registered business, add the legal entity name, company number, and registered address — these are normally required.
