When you submit a profile, we collect: Full name, Gender, Date of birth, Nationality and ethnicity, Country and city of residence, Marital status and children, Occupation and education, Religious practice and preferences, Personal description, interests, and goals, Spouse preferences, Email address, Phone number (WhatsApp), Wali contact details (sisters only), Telegram username.

3. How we use your data

We use your data solely to: Create and display your anonymised profile in the Mithaq channel, Facilitate interest requests between members, Share contact details when a match is mutually approved, Communicate with you about your profile and interest requests, Improve and operate the Mithaq service.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling beyond the operation of the service.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you provide when submitting your profile. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting admin@mithaqmarriage.com.

5. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. Your data is shared only in these limited circumstances:

With other Mithaq members: only your anonymised profile is visible. Your full name, contact details, and Telegram username are never shared unless you explicitly approve an interest request.

With our technology providers: we use Supabase (database) and Railway (hosting) to operate the service. These providers handle your data securely.

With no government, intelligence agency, or hostile third party: we will never share your data with any such entity, under any circumstances.

6. How long we keep your data

We retain your data for as long as your profile is active. If you ask us to remove your profile, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict processing, data portability, withdraw consent, and complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
